The House of Maria was born long before it arrived on the waves of grace in the little coastal town of Mossel Bay.
Our doors opened in 2007 and the creative bursting of life was celebrated under the huge shady tree on the corner of Marsh street. In 2015 we moved to a new location as we expanded and eventually in 2021 we made another move to an exciting new location as our business grew. You'll now find us at 29 Marsh Street in Mossel Bay.
The House of Maria consists of a dedicated team who gives life to Maria’s art, gift collections and other projects. The company is headed by Francois Oosthuizen, whose business expertise and financial direction is leading Maria’s vision into the future – making them a power couple designated to see God’s purpose and calling fulfilled in everything they do.
As a company, House of Maria has a story to tell, a story of love and grace and goodness – a story not about ourselves, or the people who work for us – but God’s story as it shines through our hearts and is caught in every conversation or encounter.
It is our vision to embrace life and turn a head to again glance hopefully at the future – at the possibility of a resurrected dream.

One of the most frequent questions we've been asked in the last few years was why don't we open a coffee shop. Guess what? We did! Since House of Maria started it has been a dream of Maria to open a coffee shop to accompany us. Grounded Coffee was opened in 2021.
Taking on this new business has changed the whole ambiance of House of Maria to make it even more comfortable for our visitors.
Today Maria is well known and nicknamed, ‘South Africa’s artist of the People.’ We strive to bring Maria into every home as inspiration and encouragement. We truly have something for everyone.
